daWorks Records AS was established spring of 2000 and has since been one of Norway's most successful small indies. The summer of 2004 daWorks Records Limited was established in London. Behind daWorks are the three partners Jørn Dalchow, Stein Berge Svendsen, Jazz Black and Yatish Chouhan. The company develops artists in Norway and UK for the international market. daWorks also releases licensed products.

THE FOUNDERS

Jørn Dalchow (1967 - ), partner/managing director, daWorks Records AS, Oslo
Jørn has 19 years experience from the Norwegian music business, 13 of them in Norway's largest record company PolyGram/Universal Music as product manager, product developer, marketing manager and A&R manager. He is also a much used cover designer and has designed more than 200 albums and 350 singles. In 1991 he established Norway's first national Radio airplay chart, Radio Topp 30, together with David Fishel. Early 2004 Jørn published the how to/reference-book on the Norwegian music industry, "Help, I'm in the pop business!" (www.popbransjen.com). He is also a much used music business lecturer.

Stein Berge Svendsen (1965 - ), partner
Stein is one of Norway's most experienced composers og producers. Since 1992 he has worked from his own studio, Amadeus Studio AS, in Oslo. Stein Berge Svendsen has his background from Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA, with a major in film scoring. He has written and produced for Scnadinavian artists like Mette Hartmann, Kurt Nilsen, Jan Werner, Winta, Noora, Finn Kalvik, Van Eijk and Carola. He has also written several childrens musicals, theatre music for the National Theatre in Oslo and scores for film and tv productions.

Jazz Black (1969 - ), partner/managing director, daWorks Records Limited, London
Jazz is based in London with background as producer, songwriter and manager. He has worked with artists like Eternal, Hinda Hicks ("Best New Artist" and "Best Female Vocalist" nominee at the Brit Awards), Damage, Charlotte (ex. Soul II Soul) and Winta. In addition he has collaborated on a range of projects for Polydor, Sony and EMI in the UK. Jazz is also a sought after producer for music videos.
